So many people underestimate the power of Facebook. Probably just as many that doubt the power of Twitter. 3. Be seen. Just like article marketing, video marketing etc. when you join a social site it is important to be consistent in being seen. Post often and add value. When you are perceived as an expert in your field you will attract more friends with ease.

4. Get personal. Be as transparent as you would like, business and personal lives are mixing well in social media and go a long way in attracting like-minded individuals and clients that resonate with what you do. By adding a personal flair to your business you will gain more long-term clients. Facebook makes it simple to add your personal flair.

5. Build relationships. By interacting with your prospects and clients you can better know what services and products they need to solve their problems as well as create brand loyalty and trust.

6. Bypass the gate keeper. Most people on Facebook are more than willing to interact with you. It’s not like trying to get past the secretary to get to the boss man in the corporate world. It’s very easy to get in touch with influential people.

7. Target your market. To be effective with any type of marketing you must target your niche market. Know who your target audience are and find them in Facebook groups or by doing keyword searches.

8. Cheap effective advertisements. With Facebook you can place highly targeted ads for a low cost.

9. Market for free. You can also market for completely free. From regular activity you can get quite a following and monetize on that. Another great way to increase your followers is to create your own niche specific group.

10. Get ranked on Google. Not only can your profile get indexed on Google you can create a page for your business and put lots of great content for your fans to see and the search engines to love on.
